Welcome to Kalwari Marathon
Third Keshar Singh Memorial KalwariMarathon was organised by Kalwari Gramsabha and Kalwari Youth Club on 12 January 2025 at village Kalwari 12 noon. Race included 12 km cross country run for men and 6 km for women, open to residents of Uttarakhand state only. Men’s race was won by Ashish Saini from Haridwar in 37:28 minutes, who was winner in last year 2024 edition also. Women’s winner was Bhagirathi from Chamoli, who clocked 21:42 min for 6 km run who is an ace marathoner, having just was won multiple marathon races all over the country. Second and third prize winners were Prabhu Mahto from Kotdwar (38:05 min) and Ankit Kumar from Pauri Garhwal (38:30 min) in men section respectively. Second and third prize winners for women sections were Ekta Rawat from Almora (22:09 min) and Meenakshi Negi from Pauri Garhwal (23:20 min). Prize were distributed by Mahesh Negi, ex- MLA & President of Uttarakhand state and Shalini Balodhi, Jilla Panchayat Member. Spectators from many surrounding villages witnessed the race with great fun & fare. Athletes from almost all Uttarakhand districts participated in the race where a very keen competition was seen among the participants.

Participants from Dehradun Haridwar, Nainital, Haldwani, Almora, Kotdwara and many far off places came for the event. We were not expecting such a hard fought competition, as this being such a young running meet. Atheletes who state and national level champions, who even participated at international races came for the event. 🙏🙏
